May Meetup – Date Suggestions?
It was mentioned at the last meetup that the first Sunday of the month, 1:00pm, was not really the best time for a lot of people. So we are now opening up the floor for suggestions! (except the floor is actually a comment form)
What recurring day/time would suit you best? First Sunday? Last Sunday? Saturdays?
Since new Harry Potter sources are few and far between, we’re also widening the discussion at Holly & Phoenix to include other fantasy movies, books, tv series etc. Yes, that includes Twilight. Even WE have a love/hate relationship with it.
Another great idea, and potential source for lively discussion, is the inclusion of a bookclub or recommended reading list. There are lots of great fantasy books out there, and quite a good deal of Australian fantasy authors waiting to be re-discovered.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on both issues.
EDIT/UPDATE
Please note that we will not be having a meetup this weekend. We will wait for feedback before scheduling the next one.

Sundays are fine but later on in the day – say 4pm onwards?
DIZ! It’s been so long!
Later in the day is always another option, to be sure. When there were more people coming along it used to last until around 5 anyway, but with only 3 or 4 people we end up leaving about 3. I’m keen to see what others think of the time
My only thing with the first Sunday of the month is that the first weekend has so much going on in it. My two cents worth is to suggest the second or last Saturday from some early- to mid-afternoon time (e.g. 1300hrs or 1400hrs) giving enough time for a meet-up, but keeping the Saturday evening free for kicking on to another locale or an event later in the evening.
